Mind the Mind

Mind is powerful. Your beliefs shape your world, especially the ones you have of yourself. It’s been said—whether you think you can or think you cannot, you are right.

If you believe something is possible, you move toward it.

On the other hand, you can put a limit on what you’re able to do with your own beliefs and expectations. Sometimes you can talk yourself out of something before you even begin. When was the last time you encouraged yourself? The last time you believed in yourself in an unshakable way?

Yoga, meditation, and breathing practices help to focus your mind. As the chatter in your mind settles, you see more clearly.

You begin to think, speak, and act more confidently. You can’t always control what goes on around you, but you can learn practices to help mind the mind; living more peacefully and purposefully.

“When the mind looks outward, it is swayed by the heavy winds of the world. But when the mind faces inward, we can find our center and rest in stillness.” —Haemin Sunim
