Kristen Mansch began a continuous practice of yoga in 2001. She has practiced Ashtanga Yoga daily without a break since 2012, soon after the birth of her second child. She is a forever learner and has always remained a dedicated student.
- In 2000, Kristen completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design. She continues to create for projects of inspiration, such as Sankalpa Sun.
In 2004-2005, she studied classical Hatha Yoga at The Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, Illinois. In 2007-2008, Kristen went on to study Vinyasa-Ashtanga based yoga with Daren Friesen of Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago, Illinois. Soon after the birth of her second child, Kristen took an Ashtanga Yoga workshop with Kino MacGregor. The practice drew to her like a magnet. Since that day in early June 2012, Kristen has maintained a daily Ashtanga Yoga practice. After moving to the Twin Cities area in 2013, she began practicing with Ellie Kaufman Wannemacher, a KPJAYI-Authorized teacher by Sharath Jois. In August 2015, Kristen began an apprenticeship with Ellie at Ashtanga Yoga Minneapolis and continues to learn with her in the Mysore room. Around this time Kristen incorporated pranayama, seated meditation and Ayurvedic practices. In July 2016, she practiced with Sharath Jois in New York City while on his U.S. tour. Kristen plans to study at the source in Mysore, South India, soon. Kristen is incredibly grateful for Ashtanga and all guidance received in learning this yoga method. She will continue to practice daily and study the tradition with bhakti (devotion).
Thank you for assisting me and supporting the students! Your dedication to practice is contagious, and it makes you an inspiring teacher.
Ellie Kaufman Wannemacher, KPJAYI-Authorized Teacher
I’m so grateful to have practiced with Kristen. All of the subtle reminders, shared philosophy and positive spirit helped me to be more mindful and focused on and off the mat.
Kristen, your amazing spirit is infectious and has touched my heart like no other. Thank you so much for the precious gift of you and of yoga.
